Vinalhaven Energy Club
The Vinalhaven Energy Club seeks to improve energy and resource efficiency for the residents of the Fox Islands while maintaining warm and well-lit homes and buildings. We have helped promote PACE financing, smart grid technology with electric thermal storage units and building interior storm windows for residential and public buildings. In the future we plan to b engaged in programs such as recycling and municipal composting.

Interior Storm Windows
To fix those drafty windows, the club helps homeowners construct a simple interior storm window. The picture below is a trip the club took to North Haven to show students how to make the windows. They planned to host workshops in the future for their island homeowners.
Weatherization Week was a HUGE success!! Many thanks to those that helped organize the week, to the homeowners who allowed the auditors to come in and do the work, and to the auditors (Home Energy Answers of Albion, ME). The club will look to continue this work into the future with club-organized energy assessments as well as a, potential, second Weatherization Week.
